چکیده
Gastric cancer was the fourth frequent cancer worldwide, and it was the subsequent most widespread basis of fatality from cancer. Gastric cancer is a multifactorial neoplastic pathology numbering among its causes both and genetic predisposing factors (Dikshit et al., 2011). Quite a lot of environmental factors are supposed to play a part in the development of gastric cancer such as diet rich in salted, smoked food exogenous chemicals and poor in fresh fruit and vegetables (Zagari et al., 2004). Highest morbidity percentages of gastric cancer are in South America and South-East Asia and it is comparatively barely diffused in Western countries and North America (Bertuccio et al., 2009). Serum tumor markers including alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen CA 19-9, and CA-50, have found to be raised in clinical or pathological stages of gastric cancer (Ishigami et al., 2001). CEA is a multifarious glycoprotein produced

Scenario and future prospects of microRNAs in gastric cancer: A review
Carcinoma of the stomach is one of the major prevalent and principal causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Current advancement in technology has improved the understanding of the pathogenesis and pathology of gastric cancers (GC). But, high mortality rates, unfavorable prognosis and lack of clinical predictive biomarkers provide an impetus to investigate novel early diagnostic/prognostic m...
متن کاملPromoter hypermethylation of KLOTHO; an anti-senescence related gene in colorectal cancer patients of Kashmir valley
Hypermethylation of CpG islands located in the promoter regions of genes is a major event in the development of the majority of cancer types, due to the subsequent aberrant silencing of important tumor suppressor genes. KLOTHO; a novel gene associated primarily with suppressing senescence has been shown to contribute to tumorigenesis as a result of its impaired function. Recently the relevance ...
متن کاملTwo Steps Methylation Specific PCR for Assessment of APC Promoter Methylation in Gastric Adenocarcinoma
Gastric Cancer (GC) is the second most common cancer in the world and a leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Methylation of promoter CpG islands (CGIs) belonging to tumor suppressor genes causes transcriptional silencing of their corresponding genes leading to carcinogenesis and other disorders. Adenomatous Polyposis Coli (APC) a tumor suppressor gene is inactivated by methylation of prom...
متن کاملCancer Stem Cell Markers CD44, CD133 in Primary Gastric Adenocarcinoma
Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are unique subpopulations that have the capacity to drive malignant progression with renewal abilities. Recently the role of some of CSCs in gastric adenocarcinoma has been studied. This study was performed in order to evaluate CD44 and CD133 expressions by immunohistochemistry in 95 primary gastric adenocarcinoma and their relation to clinical and pathological paramete...
متن کاملLinkage between Large intergenic non-coding RNA regulator of reprogramming and Stemness State in Samples with Helicobacter pylori Infection of Gastric Cancer Cells
Background: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), as non-protein coding transcripts, play key roles in tumor progression and stemness state in many malignancies, as their aberrant expression has been found in gastric cancer (GC) as one of the most common cancer worldwide. LINC-ROR (large intergenic noncoding RNA regulator of reprogramming) identified as an involved lncRNA in human malignancies, howeve...
